From AD Elektronik GmbH, the HighPak® 12 battery for the LIFEPAK® 12 features new lithium cell technology. It offers twice the capacity compared to NiCad batteries at less weight. Shelf life is several months with no loss of capacity.
A single set of two HighPack® 12 batteries allows the LIFEPAK® defibrillator to operate in monitoring mode for up to 10 hours without charging. In "full load" operation with permanent monitoring, NIBP, Bluetooth transmission and thirty times 360 J defibrillation, an operational time of 8 hours can be reached.
The new litium cell technology is memory free, meaning that time consuming battery conditioning is no longer required. Safe and fast charging is achieved in the Mobile Battery Service Station (MBSS), also available from Medical Device Services. When the HighPak® battery is inserted into the MBSS the "smart battery" systems means that a permanent connection is initiated, setting all charging parameters automatically.
